It’s not easy to find birthday tickets to a fantastic unknown event when you’re new to an area. Preacher Man’s birthday was in February, and I really wanted to get him a gift that we could experience together. After searching for something like ten hours, I hit gold. A stage presentation of C.S. Lewis’ The Screwtape Letters. The performance was this past Friday, and we had so much fun. Well, as much fun as you can when you’re watching a personification of a demon. Who am I kidding? It was witty, funny, and pretty dang convicting.
Our tickets were totally up in the nosebleed section- but the theater was beautiful, and the performance was intriguing. As we waited in our seats for the lights to dim, we were discussing the fact that we’ve seen Phantom in New York, Wicked in London, and any number of plays in between. Shawn has gotten to see U2 and Coldplay….and we’re not even thirty years old yet. How we’ve been so blessed, I’ll never know.
